SOFTGARD MDS

Fluorocarbon resin - C6 chain - with good repellency performance, specific for use in combination with resins in coating compounds.

Ionic Charge

Non Ionic

SOFTGARD MDS is a fluorocarbon polymer specific for oil, water and stain repellent finish on a wide range of textile products with excellent durability to laundering and dry cleaning. The fabric protection is retained at a high level after subsequent ironing or heat treatment.

The product has excellent stability and very good running properties in baths during application: no build-up on rollers and low foaming behaviour ensure safe productions, even in the presence of materials which are not perfectly prepared.

SOFTGARD MDS is particularly stable in combination with glyoxalic or melamine resins and related catalysts.

The product does not lead to significant shade changes or influences on the light fastness values of the dyes; moreover, it does not modify the hand or the mechanical properties of the treated articles. For applications on items containing dyed polyester we recommend checking the possible thermomigration of the dyes.

SOFTGARD MDSis suitable for finishing goods with high maintenance resistance: the addition of SOFTNET PLUS-L or SOFTNET FNP as extender or crosslinking agent is recommended to improve performance and fastness to washing and dry cleaning.
